Hello.

Which one is grammatically correct?

1. The reason I do yoga is reducing my stress.

2. The reason I do yoga is to reduce my stress.

Are both correct by any chance?

Re: which one is correct

I'd use only the second.

And what about these?

1. What I do to reduce stress is to do yoga.

2. What I do to reduce stress is doing yoga.

Neither. If you really must use that construction, don't repeat the verb:

What I do to reduce stress is yoga.

Re: which one is correct

Is this called a cleft structure or a noun clause?

By teachers or grammarians? I call the subject part there a 'wh-clause'. Don't confuse your students with opaque terminology.

I wish these grammatical structures had a universal name.:-?
