Does it make sense to say the sky is ambivalent?

Is this good?

The cold that night was timid. Uncharacteristic of harsh, heartless winters there. Even the sky was ambivalent. What was falling was not rain, but it was not real snow. Just feeble snowflakes swirling tentatively in the gray sky.

If I agreed with the idea that the weather has feelings I would be 100% in agreement with that one.

You clearly can personalize the weather, but how much that appeals to somebody probably depends on the individual.

Would you say all of this is okay?

The cold that night was timid. Uncharacteristic of harsh, heartless winters there. Even the sky was ambivalent. What was falling was not rain, but it was not real snow. Just feeble snowflakes swirling tentatively in the gray sky.

I suggest:

The cold that night was timid -- uncharacteristic of harsh, heartless winters there.
