and when ,(comma) after the town hall is deleted, is there any kind of different point of grammar?

Hello, Hgdear:

In my opinion, this sentence is one that definitely calls for a comma after the word "vanished":

"All signs of the market have vanished, and in front of the town hall, _____."

Now let's drop the first part of this compound sentence:

"In front of the town hall, there stood only a platform" or (in regular order): "There stood only a platform in front of the town hall."
