Hello.

I'm trying to describe a situation where a person is running from a mass shooting. How can I describe the sounds a person hears in that situation and the bullet holes that appear on the wall or concrete?

Can I say "he was running with his life"?

What are some other sentences I can use to make it more dramatic?

He heart was beating fast. He was trembling with fear.

How can I describe the sound that is produced when a bullet creates a hole on the wall or in the asphalt or concrete? Also, some bits of concrete are thrown in the air and scattered. How can I mention that?

How can I describe that visually?

I think I can use the verb "ricochet" as well, right?

Yes. When a bullet does that it bounces off of something. That can, of course, be dangerous.

Writers often say:

- a hail of bullets
- the stacatto of gunfire

For onomatopoeia:

- rat-a-tat-tat
- pow
- ping

Could you used those in full sentences?

Also, how can I describe the situation in terms of what a person sees? I mean the bullet holes and stuff like that.
