Hi guys,

Can we say "I heated or warmed the food in oven" or "Please warm the food"?

I"d use "up"
I heated the food up in the oven.
I warmed the food up in the microwave.

They sound OK to me without up, though I would use it.

I am not a teacher.

I would warm up something that had already been prepared and was now cold or perhaps even frozen.

I would use warm without the up in a recipe if I were cooking fresh ingredients.

Hi There,

Does it means we can't use "heat" for microwave?

Thank you

No. You can certainly heat things up in a microwave. Many microwaves have "re-heat" functions/programs/sensors.
