Imagine a doctor forcing you to have a surgery you never agreed to so they can extort money from you. You don’t have to imagine that—it’s happening in China. A 17-year-old girl was put on the operating table for a surgery she never agreed to. We talk about this shocking news.

The phrase "We talk about this shocking news" is itself natural in English. But it sounds to me that in the passage it sounds a bit odd and unnatural there - I wonder whether a native English speaker would write this way.
Does it sound natural to you in the passage?
