Hey guys, hope you all are doing well,

As you can read in the title I like to know the meaning of "Maria Empfängnis" here in this context.

* I know that in English it is called " Immaculate Conception" *

I heard it in a movie called "The Dark Valley 2014".

The Context:

A girl is preparing herself for her marriage then her friend says:

When is you wedding?
She says: Soon, before "Maria Empfängnis".

Now, my question is about that "before Maria Empfangnis". Is it a custom or ceremony or something which is done in churches before marriage?

Thanks in advance,

It means before December the 8th. The date of the feast of the Immaculate Conception in Catholic countries.

I am not a teacher.

The Immaculate Conception is actually the 'unbefleckte Empfängnis'. The film 'The dark valley' is Austrian, so it's not surprising that they say it in German.

In Catholic dogma, it's about the Immaculate Conception of Mary, hence 'Maria Empfängnis'.
