How would you require somebody to stop after 15 minutes? Would you make them get off? (What gym does that?)

Also, how would they make you stay on for 15 minutes?

The user might time the treadmill to stop after 15 minutes, but I don't think it would be required by the gym that you do that.

It would if other people were waiting to use it.

It might also be a limit to stop people overdoing things. (Not a gym goer, so I honestly have no idea how long people spend on the treadmill)

A long time ago, when I was a member of a gym, the limit on the treadmills was 30 minutes. That was to avoid people hogging them and running for hours when other people were waiting to use them. The same time limit applied to the exercise bikes, rowing machines, stair climbers and cross-trainers.

I usually don't use treadmill because I consider that fake running but it rained here three days ago so the ground I go to was still wet because its winters season. I run before staring the weight training but the ground was wet so I went to gym to use treadmill at 4:30 AM gym was empty but it was written that it could only be used for up to 15 minutes by an individual but I ran for 40 minutes because nobody was there but when the gym assistant showed up I asked him why it was written there so he told me that people overuse treadmills (I have also seen girls just occupy machines and have chit chat while others eagerly wait to use those machines for some serious workout) while others wait and it is usually very crowded in the gym in the evening.

Could you please check my sentences as well?

I would imagine that if nobody is waiting to use the treadmill nobody cares how long you are on it. (I could be wrong.)

I could see this a some kind of medical restriction as well, limiting strenuous exercise to shorter periods.
