Default "On Figure" or "in Figure"?

Please help me with this simple question: how it would be correct to write "on Figure 2" or "in Figure 2"?

in figure #2
Or you can simply say :figure #2 illustrates...
figure #2 is showing this and that...
see figure #2
etc
