    Default a few connotations of "accord"

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?

    Old enemies can become new friends even if all their national interests are not in complete accord.

    accord = harmony of people's opinions or actions or characters

    They came to an accord that profits would be shared equally.

    come to an accord = come to an agreement/understanding;

    We reached an accord with the neighboring country about our common border.

    accord = agreement, understanding, contract

    reach an accord = come to terms

    Our information does not accord with his report.

    It doesn't accord with what you said yesterday.

    accord = go together; suit; fit; correspond

    Unfortunately, the young man's political principles do not accord with those of his father.

    accord = harmonize; bring into line (with)

    He was accorded honours (a warm welcome).

    We accorded a hero's welcome to him (we accorded him a hero's welcome).

    accord = give; allow to have

    Employees at this firm are expected to always behave in accordance with the rules.

    Let's trim our hair in accordance with the socialist lifestyle.

    Etries which are illegible or otherwise not in accordance with the rules will be disqualified.

    in accordance with = in consonance with something; conforming to something

    A nice and useful word.for all purpose. Some personal questions using ‘accord’ to make self-analysis.

    Do you ever talk to yourself? Do you have any accord with yourself. Do you sincerely conducted yourself according to the accord reached with your self?.
