Evil eye
Hi I had a question .I need to know if it is right to say : I saw john yesterday .He told me you are so smart .I envy you ,So he cast an evil eye on me thus I couldn't take the exam as I liked. From now on I would knock on the wood when I saw him .
Please make changes wherever it needs

Punctuation: one space AFTER the punctuation mark, not before it.
he cast the evil eye on me [would be most unlikely to hear this today]
I shall knock on wood whenever I see him [the usual way to avert the evil eye is make horns at the person: extend your hand as a fist with the forefinger and little finger fully extended. Knocking on wood is to avert ill luck in general].
