Hi,

I would like to know the difference between Vulnerability and Susceptibility.

When we had a discussion among my friends and colleagues, we felt that they are very similar with the only difference being their severity. So our current understanding is "vulnerability is more severe than susceptibility".

Could you please offer your opinions?

Thanks,
Gopi

No it is not so. Susceptibility is function of sensitivity where as Vulnerability is function of exposure, sensitivity, adaptive capacity. So vulnerability has much wider application. Except for common application such as vulnerable/susceptible to criticism or persuasion or temptation, they are not interchangeable. See the following.
I didn't mean to hurt your susceptibilities.(sensitivity to feeling/emotion)
There are several vulnerable spots in the human body.(not susceptible)
