Embarrassment is an emotional state in one’s life caused by an act that is socially unacceptable, rather than morally wrong. In such a situation a person has a feeling of shameful discomfort that makes him/her self-conscious and uneasy.
He was terribly embarrassed when he forgot his lines in the play and the audience started laughing at him.
Here is an embarrassing moment described by a student that happened during his sclool days .
“My most embarrassing moment was during a prize giving at the end of the year. So the whole school comes and the parents. I was sitting at the front beside the stage and they announced this really special award and they called my name so I went up to get it and it turned out it was this other girl but I had head the name wrong! The worst was having to walk back to my seat because everyone was whispering about it! I'll never ever live that one down!”
