Default aerobic vs. aerobics class

Dear Friends,

Are 'an aerobic class' and 'an aerobics class' both correct? Google gives more hits on 'aerobics class'.

Thank you very much.

Default Re: aerobic vs. aerobics class

"Aerobics class" is the better choice. "An aerobic class" has a somewhat different meaning.

It is a class for aerobics, teaching exercises which enhance respiratory efficiency. The "class" itself doesn't enhance resperitory efficiency, the exercises learned in that class do.
