Subordinate clauses dependent on other subordinate clauses
Hello,
could you explain to me what the rules are for subordinate clauses dependent on conditional clauses? I seem to be unable to find any on the web, despite my searching.
#1 I didn’t know your sister is so nice. I would have visited you earlier.
or
If I had known your sister ____ so nice, I would have visited you
earlier.
#2 I didn’t know you play tennis so well. I wouldn’t have played with
you.
or
If I had known you ______ tennis so well, I wouldn’t have played
with you.
#3 I didn’t know you will tell her. I wouldn’t have invited her.
or
If I had known you _______ tell her, I wouldn’t have invited her.
#4 I didn’t know you shouldn’t drink alcohol. I wouldn’t have treated you.
or
If I had known you shouldn’t _____________ alcohol, I wouldn’t have treated you.
Could you please suggest correct answers to complete the sentences and possibly provide some rules or a link where I could do some studying on this issue?
Thank you for your time.

Re: Subordinate clauses dependent on other subordinate clauses
The first sentence in all of the examples should use the past tense form:
#1. I didn’t know [that] your sister was so nice.
You say it this way, even though the sister is still nice.
This is the same form you would use in the answer sentences.
Perhaps you'd like to complete them?
