It would be an honour to...and (to)...?

Hello,

I am writing a formal letter and I want to use that sentence:

It would be an honour to visit you and further elaborate...

Now, is that correct or should I add another "to" before "further"? If both are correct, is there a difference in meaning?

It's difficult to give you some help with your example because it's not clear what you want to elaborate about. For example, you might want to explain something that you and the recipient spoke about previously in which case you might say "and further elaborate about my position on the political issue we discussed previously" OR you might want to speak about why it is an honor to visit in which case you would say "and to further elaborate, you and your family always make me feel welcome in your home".

Thanks a lot billmcd, you were quite helpful actually. I mentioned the subject that I want to elaborate at the beginning of the letter so here, I understand, it would be better not to use "to" before "elaborate".
