awhile back vs. awhile ago
Good day, I am an ESL teacher from the Philippines and I have questions regarding "awhile back" and "awhile ago".
What is the correct form of this idiom? Is it awhile back or awhile ago?
Are there any rules or laws that apply to these statements?
Thanks for any help...=)

Both are used, but "a while" is two words.
