    Default Past tense vs Past participle

    I had walked to the store (past participle)
    I walked to the store (past tense)

    What is the difference between these two statements and how do you decide which to use?

    Both are OK depending on what precedes, follows or is included in the same sentence i.e. context. Submit more detail.
