    Default Hay day

Does anyone know where the expression "hayday" comes from? And, is this correct? In fact, what does it mean? I've heard it through the years but can't find it in any dictionary or Idiom book. I always heard it as: "In his hayday." I wanted to share it in a letter to a friend who is Chinese but I don't know if I should. Any help whould be appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, Its heyday not hayday as you said.

Secondly, What it means is "the most successful or popular period of someone or something". In other words "The period of greatest popularity, success, or power; prime".

    For Example:
In their heyday, they sold as many records as all the other groups in the country put together.

    Dear Atchan,

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I really appreciate it. It never occurred to me to spell the word as heyday. Being a native English speaker, I've heard this expression all my life, and yet it took someone from another country to give me the correct information. I do appreciate it. Thanks again.

    Sincerely,

    Muffie
