Default lost his temper and his health

He had lost his temper and his health in the war and never found ______ of them again.
    A.neither B. either C.each D.all

    The given answer is B.
But how does this sentence sound to native English speakers? We say 'lose one's temper' which means 'become angry'. Do we also say 'find one's temper'? Or does 'lost his temper' mean other things here? How can we paraphrase this sentence?

    Thank you in advance.

Default Re: lost his temper and his health

To me it suggests that after the war he was an angry man in poor health. It's a loose usage- we wouldn't normally talk about finding your temper or your health, but that's what creative writing is about.
