Teacher Re: "a little kidney bean" We have dozens of terms of endearment, but I can honestly say I have never heard anyone call someone "my little kidney bean" or anything similar!

Teacher Re: "a little kidney bean" Well, maybe in AmE then! But does it translate directly from, Russian to English as "little kidney bean"? If so, then that's what it is. You never know what will be used as a term of endearment -- or for that matter, for an insult. When my sister and I were children, "pumpernickel bread head" was about as bad an insult as we knew for each other. Of course, we were much more innocent than children these days.I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

"a little kidney bean" or teeny, weeny beany beanie - are my own tries to translate from russian to english
