make oneself scarce
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
What the hell do you think you’re doing in my car? Get out, make yourself scarce.
make oneself scarce = clear /get out of, off with you, hop it
Thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
V

make oneself scarce = clear /get out of (If you mean "Clear my car", then no, we don't say that), be off with you; hop it

Yes. Go away. Leave. Get out of my sight.
