Period, semi-colon or comma? Could you please advise on the correct punctuation in the following sentence?
The subsequent presentation and report were of outstanding quality";" receiving praise for discussing both the strengths and weaknesses of the chosen approach.

If you use a period or semi-colon, you must have a complete sentence (independent clause) afterwards.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
