I versus i
Hi there. I was just wondering if anyone knew the history of how and/or why 'i' must be a capital letter? Is it due to it being the subject of the sentance? Who decided this rule?
Thankyou for any help and greater learning given!

/A learner/
The text looked better using the I and not i especially if the text was hand-written or printed with an as bad printer as were those printers in the beginnings of the IT. Nothing else was the reason.
Later on it has become let me say a rule.

A search on this forum (or on Google) will find many explanations.
