Is "war" uncountable noun? [1] tells:

Re: Is "war" uncountable noun? It can be both. The abstract idea of war, like peace, love, hope, etc. is uncountable, but actual conflicts are countable.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
