Dear teachers,
Would you share with me your opinion concerning the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentences?
Speed was very nervous as he took his seat on the dais at five to seven and watched the school straggling to their places.
At every feast, Arthur and Guinevere were “seated on a dais.”
dais = a platform raised usually above the floor of a hall or large room to give distinction or prominence to those occupying it
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
