haven't cooked today
Dear teachers...
Could you please comment on the correctness of this sentence in blue?
- Have I ever told you that you're a wonderful cook?
- No, but I haven't cooked before today.
Many thanks

It's a correct sentence, but it's a strange response to the question.

Offroad, please clarify whether your blue sentence is correct, as it differs from your thread title.

It's correct as Bhai has stated. The person who answers made a delicious dish, so someone made a compliment asking that question and the 'cook' said that. However, the particle 'today' sounds a bit odd to me.
