attracted attention or grabbed my attention

I'm slightly making a repetion but I'd like to know if there would be a difference if someone in conversation said these two sentences ?

"The picture hanging in the loby attracted my attention."

OR

"The picture hanging in the loby grabbed my attention."

JMurray's answer in the other thread on this topic seems fine to me:

But "it grabbed my attention" often conveys a stronger sense of "seized" or "gripped" [than "attracted"]

Basically it depends on how the speaker perceives the situation and the context he would use it in?
