After decades of learning, I'm still unable to get rid of polonisms in my English speech and writing. I doesn't have to prove anything, but this does in my opinion.

I don't think it's possible for an adult person to learn to use a new language as its native speakers do, unless the laguage is very similar to the person's L1.

BTW, where did you find the word pinpoint? I ask because to pinpoint to find or identify something very accurately and doesn't work in this context. Are you using a bilingual dictionary?

I have been catching others saying this to express one's has been picking on others ever since I started to learn English.
