What's 'Hot line' as the words in the restaurant?
Please refer the following sentence;
"You know, you're at the best seat in the house tonight," the waitress says with a smile, addressing the party of four seated in a burgundy-cushioned booth about eight feet from the kitchen's hot line at Buca di Beppo restaurant in Washington DC.
What's the meaning of 'hot line' here?

The "hot line" is where the food is cooked, the cookers, griddles, grills etc.

Thank you so much for your reply!
I couldn't find any answer in the web dictionary sites as well as restaurant articles and was in trouble.
It was so helpful to know the meaning!

***** NOT A TEACHER *****
And please remember that many Americans now prefer to use the
gender-neutral term "server" (instead of "waiter" and "waitress).
