    Dear all,

    What is the meaning of the expression "to go down in the football folklore" in:

    "The ageing star Milla was expected to be a bit part player, but he made the tournament his own to go down in football folklore"

    go down as: Hansen will go down as one of the best teachers this school has ever had.

    go down in: Both their names went down in the referee’s notebook.

    The efforts they made will go down in history.
