    Default expect of or from!

    I want to know which one is correct --I didn't expect this from you or of you? wheather change of preposition changes the sense? gramatically which one is correct to use --I didn't expect this of you?

    I don't expect u do that!!!!

    look! no preposition, this is a problem of young English learners .They often search for some preposition, checking verbs in Oxford Dictionary or any other monolingual ones can be very helpful in these cases.

    (I expect) informal used to indicate that one supposes something to be so but has no firm evidence:they're just friends of his, I expect[with clause] :I expect you know them?

    Also, you can expect something from somebody. (As faryan put it, you cannot expect from a person something.)


    Ex: We expected more co-operation/better results from them.
