    Default make a sound or make the sound

    Hi all,

    I am confused with the article usage. Which one is correct and why

    1. Let's make the sound of a cat
    2. Let's make a sound of a cat?

    Sound is a general term so I think it should be "a".

    I'm assuming that a cat makes only one sound,"meow." In that case #1 is the correct choice.
