Default The cabbie asked (for)my destination.

The cabbie asked (for)my destination after I got in.

Is 'for' commonly there in this context?

'The cabbie asked where I wanted to go after I got in.'

In reality, the cabbie wouldn't need to ask that - you'd tell him first where you wanted to go.
