I normally say : "I'm in a really good/bad mood".

But today I heard someone say: "I'm in a real good mood".

Google says they both exist....

What do you think?

(1) I read something quite interesting that I wish to share with you.

(2) Many (many!!!) years ago, "real good mood" was correct

because "real" modified "good mood." That is, the "good mood"

was "real."

(3) Then over the years, people started to feel that "real"

belonged only to "good." And since "real" is an adjective, the

powers that be decreed that we would now have to say "really

good."

(4) By the way, Allen, probably some people might claim that one

should really (!!!) say "in a very good mood."
