Question 'To take Sth up' vs 'to go off Sth'?

    Hi there,

Is the following sentence considered normal by native speakers?

'Being an absolute dabbler she takes up an activity and goes off it soon after!'

    Many thanks in advance.

    It sounds normal to me.

(Please take the trouble to type something in full (without a capital s).
