    I don't think it is any more. You won't hear the f-word on most American talk-shows -- it will be bleeped. But the censors don't seem to mind "piss off". However, it's called slang by Collins Dictionary and vulgar by the AHD.

    Yes, it is. You should only use it with friends or enemies - ie. people you know.

    There is a lot of language allowed on TV now that is still considered profane. I would expect trouble if my daughter said it to a teacher.
