    Default closure of/in

Failure to extend funding could mean furloughs for tens of thousands of agency employees and lead to the closure of national parks, the loss of regional tourism dollars and the cessation of permitting for oil and gas drilling, mining, recreation and other public land uses.
In light of a certain thread, could "in" be substituted for "of" in "the closure of national parks?

So, despite that another thread in post #1, "of" cannot be replaced by "in"?

It cannot be used in the example you gave.

I cannot comment on the other thread, because your link does not work for me.

(My newbie status prevents me from posting links directly. So I have to give the link in a roundabout way.)

Add "www" to this link----> usingenglish.com/forum/ask-teacher/152641-interchangeability.html

That thread was about 'increase'; this thread is about 'closure'. Different prepositions go with different nouns:

    increase in
    closure of
    dependence on
    demand for
    answer to
    familiarity with

    etc
