"be able to" followed by the passive voice? Which of the following sentences is correct? Thanks a lot.
A. Chinese farmers were loud talkers. Even working far away in the rice fields, they were able to be heard.

Teacher Re: "be able to" followed by the passive voice? More context would make it easier to give an appropriate answer.
