Default He goes to English/swimming etc classes

    Hi

    Is it correct to say

He goes to English/swimming etc classes.

    Instead of saying :

    He takes English/swimming etc classes.

    Thanks.

Both ways of saying this are acceptable.

    NOT A TEACHER.

I think one might go to a swimming lesson or to swimming practice but not to a swimming class. This view might not be shared by others, though.

I wouldn't go to swimming class myself, but my son did.
