blend into, mingle with
Cattle fish blend themselves into seaweed, when they see a predator.
Cattle fish mingle with seaweed, when they see a predator.
Can I use mingle with as a synonym?
What is the diference between blend in with and blend into?
Thank you for your reply.

Using "blend themselves into" suggests to me that they become seaweed, although it is not what you intend it to mean, nor is it incorrect. However, I would prefer "blend in with" or "mingle with".
