put my mind at rest, give a break to my mind
1) First , it is a good way to relax and put my mind at rest. For example: whenever I have had a stressful day, I try to get over it by reading a fiction book.
2) If I say ''I prefer to read fiction books because, it is a good way to give my mind a break, because most of the time I have to study non-fiction books.''
Are my sentences correct?
Sincerely.

Put your mind to rest doesn't work here for me- when you have a doubt or suspect something, you put your mind to rest by finding out the answer.

OK, If I say, I prefer to read fiction books, because it is a good way to distract my mind from a stressful day and give a break to my mind. Does my sentence make a sense?
Sincerely.

Too many 'mind's. '...because it is a good way to unwind after a stressful day [and give my mind a restI?' (Personally I'd omit the last clause.)
