    Default Salutation

When addressing two people in the salutation of a formal letter, should one write "Dear Mr. X, Dear Mr. Y," "Dear Mr. X, dear Mr. Y," or "Dear Mr. X and Mr. Y"? I'd go with the last option.

    Thanks!

So would I although if the two people are both male, there is another potential: "Messrs" (more than one Mister). As far as I know, there isn't an equivalent for two women.

    Dear Messrs Smith and Jones

I would personally prefer "Dear Mr Smith and Mr Jones".
