Hi there,
I am currently learning English and I am looking for books for reading in order to improve my reading skills. I am interested in reading biography of famous people and novels. I tried to read some novels but it was a hard experience since there were a lot of difficuilt words which I can not guess their meanings. I was not able to concentrate so I left reading novels. However, I am sure there are many biographies of famous people and novels for adult learners (I can guess my level is intermediate or might be for reading skill 12 year olds )
Can you please help me find novels and biographies at this level
thanks in advance

(1) Welcome to usingenglish.
(2) I know how you feel: I do not like novels, either.
(3) I have a suggestion:
(a) Choose the name of a famous person who interests you.
Napoleon? Florence Nightingale? George Washington?
(b) Go to Google and type in the name.
(c) When the page of results comes on, study the left side of the page.
You will see a list of words. Click on the word books.
(d) Many pages of results will come up.
(i) You can then read many books about that person. (I hear that
Google put many books on the Web as a service to readers everywhere.)
(ii) Sometimes they let us read only a few pages of a biography; sometimes we
can read the whole book.
(4) When I was young, we did not have the Internet. You young people today are
very lucky.

In my country, book-shops specialised in books for ESL learners often have simplified novels and other 'readers' for students. They are shorter than the original versions, and the vocabulary and language structure are adapted to the differente levels--beginner, intermediate, and so on.
