    Cool half or the half

    Hello!

Is the use of "the" correct in this sentence , please? If so, is it necessary?

    -"I've done half of it."

    THank you
    Will

"I've done half of it" is okay.

Where do you want to put "the"? I've done the half of it? No, don't say that.

We do have an expression "You don't know the half of it!" which means "There is so much more to say about this."
You can also say something like "The half of the pizza with green peppers must be yours. You know I don't eat those."
In those cases, "half" is a noun, not a quantifier.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

'I've done half of it' is correct. You don't need 'the' and I can't see where you would put it in.
