    Default haze of the funeral

    This is about a girl helping and consoling her friend at her brother's funeral, and what is "haze"? Is it a physical thing like fog or a metaphor for a confused state of mind?

    ex)....Over the course of the next few days, amidst the haze of the funeral and hundreds of visitors, Donna was 100 percent present for Mary Ann. She held her close while she cried endless tears...
