Which one is right? Why? In what situations do we use "part of..." or "a part of..."? What is the difference between them? Thanks for your replies!

Both are OK.

I can't think of a context where they wouldn't be interchangeable.

:idea:

Only after typing that did I realise that I'd never say 'All a part of the service'.

I'm glad I said 'hardly ever' in post #4. I knew there'd be exceptions.
