In my opinion, in your examples, turn into is better because it means "to become something different". For example, after years of studying, she turnd into a sophisticated person.
'Turned to' (in this sense*) means 'took on a different form/was transformed'. 'Everything King Midas touched turned to gold. He hugged his daughter and she turned into a golden statue.'
There are other uses of 'turned to' - take, for example, 'Whenever he needed money he turned to his parents for a loan' (Whyever did I think of that?
