    Default echoing well

    Dear Teachers,

My dictionary gives 'echoing well' for a well into which you can speak/shout and hear your words echoed back.

But English dictionaries do not seem to know 'echoing well'. Is there a whole other word for this?

I don't know of any specific term for that.

    Hm, that's strange!
And 'echoing well' isn't correct either, then?

    I don't know the expression.

I would have thought that all wells gave some sort of echo effect.

    No-one else weighing in?

In Holland we also have these echoing wells in (older) amusement parks.
I almost can't believe they aren't known in England...!
