Default crow bones on the plate

Hello, can you explain the following expression about the crow bones on the table, please?

"Search Google for 'politician resigns', and you'll find a parade of ignomity. Now search Google for 'CEO apologizes' and you'll find a pile of crow bones on the plate with Toyota, BP, Citigroup, Chrysler and even NPR on the table. " source: Public Parts by Jeff Jarvis

Start by Googling the phrase "Eating Crow", and I think you'll begin to understand.

If you eat crow, you have to admit that you were wrong about something.

Ah, that explains why I was unfamiliar with the expression.
